Each week for Arcade Gems we highlight some lesser-known, must-play titles. These games are favorites of those in-the-know, and, once you give them a try, we think you’ll agree that they’re worthy classics.
This week’s Arcade Gems is Centipede (1981).
In Centipede, the player uses a magic wand to shoot waves of oncoming insects and score points. If the player is bitten by an insect, they will be temporarily paralyzed and lose one of three starting magic wands. This game offers both a one-player mode and two-player alternating.
